Accessibility Statement
Updated: March 4, 2026
Our Commitment
Edumiral is committed to making this website accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. We believe inclusive design is not optional — it is fundamental to building products that truly serve all learners.
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as set out by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Conformance Status
This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some content may not yet meet all WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria.
This is a placeholder site under active development. Known areas of work include:
- Third-party components (e.g. CAPTCHA widget) that are partially outside our direct control
- Ongoing validation of colour contrast in all component states
Measures We Have Taken
- All page structures use semantic HTML5 landmarks (
header, main, footer, nav). - All images include meaningful
alttext, or are marked decorative where appropriate. - All form fields have programmatically associated labels and error messages via
aria-describedby. - A visible skip-to-main-content link is provided on every page.
- Focus is visible on all interactive elements via CSS
:focus-visibleoutlines. - Navigation is operable via keyboard alone.
- The cookie consent modal traps focus while open and returns focus on close.
- All text achieves a minimum 4.5:1 contrast ratio against backgrounds.
- Reduced-motion preferences are respected via
prefers-reduced-motion. - HTML language attribute (
lang="en") is set on all pages.
Technical Approach
This website is built with:
- Semantic HTML5
- CSS (custom properties, responsive layout)
- Vanilla JavaScript (no frameworks)
- WAI-ARIA roles and attributes where needed to supplement HTML semantics
We rely on the user's own browser and operating system for assistive technology compatibility (screen readers, switch access, etc.).
Assessment Approach
Edumiral self-assesses the accessibility of this website through internal reviews and manual keyboard/screen-reader testing. We plan to conduct a formal WCAG audit before the public product launch.
